The Denver Legal Night team, pictured above, was recognized by the Colorado Lawyers Committee (CLC) on September 27th, winning the Team of the Year Award!
Each year, the CLC hosts a luncheon and awards ceremony to honor individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the Committee’s mission to provide pro bono legal support to disadvantaged and underserved communities through a variety of projects.
One of these projects, Denver Legal Night, is a free clinic offered at Centro San Juan Diego every first and third Wednesday of each month. The Denver Legal Night team, comprised of a few CLC lawyers, staff members, plus the Centro San Juan Diego team, ensures the ongoing success of these clinics by recruiting lawyers and other volunteers, offering logistical support, and, most importantly, essential legal services for clients who need them most.
In 2022, 403 volunteers assisted 969 clients. Since this summer, Denver Legal Night has been serving, on average, 100 clients per clinic at Centro San Juan Diego!
Centro San Juan Diego is proud to serve a vital role on this team and is grateful to continue its long-standing partnership with the Colorado Lawyers Committee in its efforts to provide legal assistance and resources to the community. Since Legal Night’s inception in 2006, together we have served nearly 32,000 individuals! Thank you for recognizing the team with this award, and for making Denver Legal Night possible.
